About Me

Kenneth A. Edelstein is a New York Notary and a Certified Signing Agent, Apostille Processor and Expert Fingerprinter. I am a graduate of Pace University, majoring in Computer Science and Psychology. Formerly a Vice President and LAN Administrator, I retired after 25 years with Merrill Lynch. As a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) - I became a computer and document management expert. I have been appointed Arbitrator, Computer Disputes Panel, with the American Arbitration Association, New York Chapter. I am not an attorney, but am very familiar with New York Notary Law and procedures. My hobbies are Photography, Amateur Radio, Camping, Chess and Motorcycle riding. I am a soloed student pilot. I am also a New York State Certified Inspector with the Environmental Protection Agency.

I will schedule appointments for any time, 24 hours a day 7 days a week (24/7). However, I do need to sleep sometime - Please limit "wee hour" calls to genuine emergencies. I can go anywhere in New York State, at anytime to meet the need for Notary Services. That includes evening, weekends and holidays. The earlier you schedule an appointment on my calendar, the greater the chance that I can accommodate you. I perform Notarizations, obtain Authentication Certificates, complete Apostille processing, Legalization of Documents, and expert Fingerprinting.

I do not "farm out" any assignments, never! My wife and I work as a team, using no messengers or other staff. Unlike some companies claiming to have many notaries, with varying degrees of skill; when you talk to me, I am the one who arrives. We, Sandra and I, are often able to respond to your request immediately and arrive at your location within an hour. We will never "over-schedule" and leave you waiting; actually, I usually arrive about 15 minutes early, and have time to check email on my cell phone. For a reasonable travel fee; which will be agreed upon prior to our departure, you can schedule an appointment at your location. I do not maintain an office, nor does my building permit me to conduct notary "walk in" appointments at my residence. My witness signing is at your location.

We have built a solid reputation based upon our experience and professionalism. Our Corporate and individual clients call us repeatedly - based on our prior work. They know their documents will be notarized correctly in accordance with the Notary Laws of New York State. Additionally, fingerprints taken by me are accepted, and the Apostille will be delivered as scheduled (usually sooner!). Also, as a traveling notary public: be assured that I arrive with all the necessary forms and supplies to do the job right, whatever it may be. I carry a 20 pound portable Notary office; full of forms, embossers, notary stamps and office supplies - everywhere I go. In every endeavor of human enterprise there are some individuals "cutting corners" or doing what I would consider shoddy work. The following is by no means a complete guide, but presents some things to watch for when having something notarized.

Notary Performance Checklist

Did the Notary check your government issued photo ID
Does the Notarization include "State of New York" and "County of ______" (varies)
Did the Notary sign their name exactly the same as on the notary stamp
Did the notary use black ink for everything at all times
Is there a statement by the Notary eg: "Sworn to before me this ____ day of ____ by _____
Did the notary offer to show their ID - driver's license and Notary Commission
Did the notary actually give you the oath "Do you swear that this __________
Did the notary offer you their business card and a receipt with the notary commission number
If the notarization is going out of New York State - did the notary emboss it with a raised seal
